On April 11 at approximately 6:12 p.m., Kitscoty RCMP received a complaint of a suspicious male looking for fuel at a rural residence south of Lloydminster. A member of the Kitscoty RCMP Crime Reduction Unit attended the area and located the male in the drivers seat of a vehicle.
Investigation determined the vehicle had been reported stolen from Lloydminster several days prior.
As a result of the investigation, Brandon Heuvel, 28, a resident of Lloydminster, Alta., was arrested and charged with the following:
- Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000
Following the investigation, Heuvel was released on an Undertaking with court set for May 23 at Alberta Court of Justice in Lloydminster.
“This is yet another great example of a call from a concerned citizen resulting in the apprehension of an individual involved in criminal activity,” said Sgt. Corey Buckingham, Kitscoty RCMP Detachment Commander.
