It is with profound sorrow that the family of Merle Stevens (of Lloydminster, AB) announces her passing at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan at the age of 75. Merle was a thoughtful, kind and loving woman and will be deeply missed by her son, Michael (Ashley Ball) and her beautiful step-grandchildren, Lexi and Emerie. She will also be remembered by countless friends, extended family members, former colleagues and former students. During her life, Merle worked as a high school English teacher at Eagleview Comprehensive High School in Onion Lake, Saskatchewan for over 30 years. Merle was also extremely dedicated to her community, having volunteered with numerous organizations in Lloydminster, including the Border City Optimist’s Club, the Olive Tree and the “For the Interval” Store. Merle was predeceased by her parents, Myrl and Audrey Stevens, and her brother, Laurie Stevens. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the RUH Oncology Unit for the dedicated and compassionate care they provided during Merle’s brief stay there.
