William (Bill) Kokonas

KOKONAS: William (Bill) passed away, with family by his side, at Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Monday, June 5th at the age of 71 years, after a long courageous battle with dementia. Bill leaves to mourn his loving wife, Debbie; son, Jim (Kim) Kokonas and their children, Ileanna and Milena; daughter, Maria (Ian) Bergerud and their children, Abby, Luke, Emilia, and Will; mother-in-law, Marion Mainville; brother, Spiro (Tina) Kokonas; sister, Marina (Ted ) Katsiris; brother-in-law, Greg (Leila) Mainville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bill was predeceased by: his parents: Constantin and Maria Kokonas; brother, Jim; and father-in-law, Bernie Mainville. A public funeral service was conducted at First Lutheran Church, Lloydminster, AB on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with the interment to follow at Lloydminster City Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements. Card of Thanks Our hearts are filled with gratitude as we reflect on all the support and kindness we received from friends, relatives and community members. Thank you for the cards, facebook messages, tributes and the many kind gestures we received. Thank you to Lloydminster Continuing Care Staff for their compassionate and unwavering care and support given to Bill. Thank you to Pastor John Haycock for officiating the service, Brianne Thompson for the music, Elenee Young for her solo and to Megan Mainville for the slide presentation. Thank you to my son, Jim, and my niece, Maria, for the Eulogy. We were so grateful to Spiro’s Restaurant and Staff for providing a beautifully prepared and delicious lunch with Bill’s favorite meal and desserts. Thank you to Dr. Louie Uwafo for his care and visits to Bill over the past few years. We’d also like to thank Dr. Chapelski and the Emergency Staff for their patience and kindness shown the day of Bill’s passing.
