The Lloydminster Men’s Shelter’s Second Annual Charity Golf Tournament hit the greens in hopes of raising money for a new shelter.
The Sept. 6 tournament aimed to bring the community together to help raise money for a new 60-bed shelter.
“Overall, the event went really well and many more great conversations were had,” explained Kagan Kneen, executive director of the Lloydminster Men’s Shelter.
In total there were 45 golfers registered with most of those coming from companies that sponsored the event.
Kneen says overall they took a loss for the event.
“We did take a loss for this event, which we did forecast, as we hoped we would get more corporate sponsors for the run,” he said.
They raised $1000 in silent auctions, 50/50 and prizes donated.
The charity golf tournament was part of the Running for Shelter campaign which raised over $43,000 towards the new shelter.
