A one-year-old mural by local artist Brandi Hofer recently went under the brush after taking a beating from the elements.
Hofer instantly noticed a problem after it was painted. The paint attracted all the dirt and dust from the train tracks and traffic.
Just over a week ago, they tested a new paint on a small wall section. The hope was it would protect the mural and shed the dirt.
“It worked,” said Hofer after checking it a few days later.
“The product adhered; it likely needs two coats. However, you can feel the difference between the two surfaces. Sherwin Williams is sending us enough product for 3,082 sq ft.The goal is to start repainting the entire mural in the next few weeks.”
More updates to come.
