The Lloydminster Bobcats clawed their way out of an eight-game losing streak on Oct. 4 in Bonnyville with a 5-0 win over the Pontiacs.
Bobcats newly acquired forward, Rhett Miller, got things going on the power play mid-way through the opening frame. Assists went to Cooper Moore and Kade Fendelet.
Miller potted a second powerplay goal six minutes into the second period off a Jack Birch assist. Alessio Nardelli made it a 3-0 game seven minutes later, also on the powerplay. Assists went to Lucas Magowan and Gus El-Tahhan.
Jack Ferguson got his first goal of the season two minutes later with assists to Moore and Kaiden Wiltsie for a 4-0 ‘Cats lead going into the third.
Moore also got his first goal of the season eight minutes into the third for a 5-0 Bobcats win. Assists went to Fendelet and Birch.
Friday’s game also saw Bobcats goaltender Kaiden Kirkwood record his first shutout of the season.
The Bobcats are back in action tonight as they host the ‘Yaks at the Centennial Civic Centre. The puck drops at 7 p.m.
