RCMP in Lloydminster is toting an arrest after a male escaped at high speed.
On Oct. 28, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Lloydminster RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) began investigating a police flight incident after attempting a traffic stop on a vehicle at 47 Ave. and 36 Street in Lloydminster. Officers tried to stop the vehicle but it sped away eastbound on 44 Ave.
A short time later, officers located the vehicle near 44 Ave. where the driver was taken into custody without incident.
As a result of the investigation, Shaun William McLeod of Edmonton faces the following charges:
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
- Flight from peace officer
- Fail to comply with release order (x2)
McLeod remains in custody until his next court appearance, Oct. 31.
