In a recent operation, Saskatchewan RCMP’s Saskatoon Warrant Enforcement and Response Team (WEST) arrested five individuals on outstanding warrants in the Lloydminster area.
Officers took the suspects into custody between Nov. 5 and Nov. 7, working alongside local RCMP units.
The arrests began on Nov. 5. Saskatoon WEST officers, supported by Lloydminster RCMP’s General Investigation Section (GIS) and Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), arrested Shania Heathen at a business in Lloydminster.
Heathen, 23, from Lloydminster, was wanted by Maidstone RCMP for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Additionally, she also faced charges for breaching her conditional sentence order and possessing fentanyl. Authorities held Heathen in custody, awaiting her court appearance.
At the same time, officers apprehended 31-year-old Tamarah Dillon from Edmonton. Dillon had an outstanding warrant from Onion Lake RCMP for assault with a weapon and a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large. Dillon is in custody awaiting court.
Meanwhile, Lloydminster RCMP's CRU arrested Dylane McAllister, a 29-year-old from Lloydminster. Officers observed McAllister leaving the same business. He had an outstanding warrant from Maidstone RCMP for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
On Nov. 6, Saskatoon WEST tracked down Valance Wapass, 40, from Onion Lake Cree Nation. Police found him at a residence on Thunderchild First Nation. Wapass was wanted by Onion Lake and Turtleford RCMP for multiple charges. They include assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and failing to comply with probation. Support from Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team, allowed officers to arrest Wapass without incident.
On Nov. 7, Saskatoon WEST located and arrested Garett Stanley, a 23-year-old from Onion Lake Cree Nation. Stanley had a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large. Stanley is in police custody following his arrest.
The RCMP's departmental collaboration led to the successful capture of all five suspects, each facing various criminal charges.
