Emergency crews responded early Jan. 21 to a collision on Highway 16 near the scales.
The crash involved a semi-truck and a grader. Vermilion Fire & Rescue, County #9-1, RCMP, Medavie Health Services West, and Alberta Transportation attended the scene.
Firefighters stabilized the area and managed traffic while extricating one person from the transport truck. Eastbound traffic was reduced to a single lane during the incident. Two people were treated at the scene. One was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
By 8 a.m., County Fire Chief Kirk Hughes reported that the scene had been cleared, and crews had returned to their halls.
RCMP are investigating the cause of the accident.
