The City of Lloydminster will be honouring workers who were killed or injured on the job.
The National Day of Mourning Ceremony will be held April 28. The event begins at 9:30 a.m. in the City Hall parking lot.

ATCO, the Lloydminster Construction Association (LCA) and the Lakeland Regional Safety Committee (LRSC) are co-hosting the event.
The ceremony begins with a welcome and introduction, followed by remarks from Mayor Gerald Aalbers.
Officials will then sign a proclamation recognizing the day. A flag lowering and moment of silence will follow.
The ceremony will conclude with an announcement of upcoming events related to workplace safety.
ATCO will offer coffee and donuts to attendees after the ceremony.
In 2023, Canadian workplaces recorded 1,057 deaths, according to the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety.
Alberta and Saskatchewan have seen a combined rise in workplace injuries and fatalities.
The City of Lloydminster said it remains committed to preventing workplace injuries and promoting safety in all operations.
“This observance serves as an opportunity to reinforce the importance of workplace safety and remember those affected by preventable tragedies,” the city said in a release.
