Saskatchewan launches annual ExploreSask photo and video contest

Amateur and professional storytellers have a chance to showcase the province’s natural beauty and community spirit as Tourism Saskatchewan officially launches its annual ExploreSask Photo Contest.

The competition, which opened for submissions on June 15, invites photographers and videographers to submit their most striking images and videos capturing Saskatchewan adventures.

This year’s contest features six distinct categories:

  • People & Places: Portraits showcasing community spirit, urban life, and local attractions.
  • Prairie: Scenic captures of the province’s diverse geography, including valleys, hills, and badlands.
  • Wildlife: Images highlighting wild animals, birds, and insects native to the province.
  • Winter: Scenes detailing snowy landscapes and seasonal outdoor activities.
  • Woods & Water: Photography focusing on Saskatchewan’s forests, lakes, and rivers.
  • Video: Edited pieces or single-shot videos up to 60 seconds long.

Winning photographers in the five main photo categories will each receive a $500 Visa gift card, with an additional $500 awarded to the Grand Prize winner. The top entry in the video category will receive a $1,000 Visa gift card.
