RCMP investigating potential abduction near Loon Lake

Saskatchewan RCMP is turning to the public for help as they investigate the potential abduction of a 30-year-old woman from the Loon Lake area early Monday morning.

Investigators say Nikita Sim was reportedly taken from a residence near Makwa Lake at about 12:45 a.m. on July 13. Police are trying to locate her to confirm her safety.

Sim is described as five-foot-one and 121 pounds, with brown eyes and long brown hair.

Police believe she may be travelling with an adult male in a grey 2009 Chevrolet Impala bearing Saskatchewan license plate 402 NRJ. The vehicle has a damaged windshield as well as damage to its front bumper. Its current direction of travel is unknown.

The Saskatchewan RCMP’s Battlefords Serious Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation.

Authorities say they cannot provide additional details at this time but will provide updates as they become available. Police added they will notify the public immediately if an imminent risk to public safety is identified.
