The Downtown Area Redevelopment Committee presented its latest annual update to the City of Lloydminster, highlighting ongoing efforts to guide the future of the city’s core.

The update, brought forward by administration to the Governance and Priorities Committee on Sept. 14, outlines the committee’s accomplishments and future recommendations for executing the Downtown Area Redevelopment Plan.
Formed in September 2021, the advisory group provides guidance and recommendations to city administration and council regarding downtown planning, while advocating for core revitalization across the wider community.
Under its terms of reference, the committee delivers annual progress reports to council. Presenting the 2026 report were committee chair Ben Harrison and vice-chair Kerry Million.
The update noted that while seat assignments have evolved over time, the group maintains a consistent core of long-serving volunteers. Harrison has served since the committee’s inception, while Steven Hickman and Cheryl-Lynn Ross joined in 2022.
Million, Amy Roper, Eric Valois and Dil Randhawa joined in 2023, followed by Stephanie Lindsay in 2024. Kristin Kenyon and Keegan Bendixen were appointed in 2025 and 2026, respectively.
City administration noted the members contribute significant personal and professional time toward downtown initiatives.
The report aligns with the city’s strategic focus on economic strength, aiming to boost health, vitality, and quality of life in the downtown core. The committee recommended that council accept the update as information and forward its recommendations to a future regular council meeting for decision.
