The auction, which runs May 4-10, takes place during mental health week and helps support programming at the centre.
“This is our primary annual fundraiser, and it plays a vital role in supporting our programs and services each year,” said Treena Schmidt, Libbie Young Centre executive director.
While this serves as the organization’s main fundraiser for the year, Schmidt said they’re working to find new fundraising opportunities.
“While it is our main fundraising event, we are also actively exploring new and diversified fundraising opportunities for 2026 and beyond to ensure long‑term sustainability,” she said.
Schmidt said the auction features a wide variety of items donated by local businesses and community supporters.
“Bidders will find everything from gift certificates for local restaurants, wellness services, tattoo studios, nail care and auto detailing, to home and kitchen items, seasonal décor and cozy household pieces,” she said.
The Libbie Young Centre is a non-profit that’s operated in Lloydminster since 1983 and provides support for adults living with mental illness.
“Our programs provide a reliable source of support and enhance overall quality of life,” said Schmidt.
The auction is open for bidding online at 32auctions.com/lyc2026 until May 10. Outside of the annual auction, the Libbie Young Centre has seen strong community support through local fundraisers such as the Lloydminster Motor Club’s season opening car show. Donations can also be made to support programming online.
“Donations can be made online through the donation link on our website at libbie.ca, or by cash or cheque,” she said. “Every contribution, whether attending an event, volunteering time, or donation, helps us continue to provide essential mental health supports in our community.”
