A Saskatchewan employer and an individual are facing charges in Regina for allegedly providing false information under provincial immigration legislation.

Jorawar Singh and JD Trucking Ltd. have both been charged under section 7-6(1) of The Immigration Services Act, which prohibits making or signing false statements, or providing false, misleading, or inaccurate information.
According to government officials, the alleged offences occurred on or about April 9 near Regina.
The accused made an initial appearance in Regina provincial court on Sept. 2. The matter has since been adjourned to Sept. 28.
The charges were brought forward following work by the Program Compliance Branch of the Ministry of Immigration and Career Training, which oversees foreign worker protections in the province.
Provincial officials noted that while specific immigration statutes safeguard foreign workers and newcomers, all employees in the province remain covered under The Saskatchewan Employment Act.
