There will be some happy children in the world thanks to the generosity of Lloydminster residents who donated to the annual Operation Christmas Child charity run by Samaritan’s Purse.
For the seventh consecutive year, Lloydminster volunteers Ruby and Laurin Trudel travelled to Calgary to spend five days at the processing centre inspecting shoeboxes packed with gifts for boys and girls.
“This is such a joyful place,” said Ruby. “This is our most favourite Christmas activity.
“We’ve travelled in the developing world and we’ve seen children who have nothing. This program helps them and shares the love of God.”
The boxes are shipped to Central America, west Africa, Philippines and Ukraine in time for Christmas. Samaritan’s Purse sent us this photo to recognize the outstanding volunteerism of the Trudel’s to the cause.
