Thelma Jamieson
Our dear mother Thelma Jamieson passed away from health issues August 13, 2023 at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta with her family by her side.
Thelma was born March 27, 1939 in Guysborough County, Nova Scotia to Harold and Bertha Hadley. She graduated Teachers College 1957 in Truro, NS. Taught in Guysborough until she married in 1959 and moved to Truro, NS to raise her 5 children. Got divorced in 1978. Worked at numerous office jobs.
Moved to Edmonton, Alberta in 1986. Worked at Sears and continued working at Sears when she moved to Lloydminster in 1997. She retired in 2004. She lived at Fellowship Village for 26 years where she had a little flower garden and her best friend Betty. She moved to Edmonton in 2021 until her death.
Thelma touched lives everywhere she went. Her greatest joy was giving and helping people, especially those less fortunate. She didn’t have much but gave of herself to everyone who needed her. She loved her sports; she was an avid Montreal Canadiens & Expos fan. She didn’t miss any of her grandchildren’s sports. She loved playing the organ, especially hymns, and prayed every morning for her family. She will be remembered for all her little bags of cookies she gave to her family and those around her. She had lots of energy, never sitting still, always busy doing something. She was never without a coffee in her hand. She left a legacy of how to care and love people. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, reconnecting with her sisters and the occasional visit from Sandra and Pat. There will never be a day we aren’t thinking about her but take comfort knowing she’s with her Savior and we will see her again.
Thelma is survived by her sisters; Shirley (Lloyd), Hazel (Gordon), Sandra (Pat), Dorothy (Curtis) Ethel (deceased) and brothers Curtis (deceased), Bernie (deceased) and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Daughters Carolyn Cooke (Eldon), Sons Jamieson (Trixanne) (great granddaughter Destiny) and Jericho (Natasha). Debbie Oswell (Lionel) son Jeremiah (Jeremy). Patti Borzel (Kevin) sons Jared and Jesse. Sons, Tim Jamieson, son Jesse, daughter Sarah. Paul Jamieson and son Eli.
Memorial Service will be held at a later date with her nephew Duane Grant officiating.
