Canadians lost $567 million to fraud in 2023. As technology evolves, scammers develop new tactics, making awareness crucial. This event will help attendees recognize scams, take action if victimized, and understand fraud tactics.
Julie Matthews, a certified fraud examiner and consumer protection expert, will lead the presentation. Matthews previously worked as an investigative journalist and senior investigator for Alberta’s Consumer Investigations Unit. Now, she educates communities and hosts a weekly Scam Alert segment on CFCW radio.
The session is open to everyone and offers practical tools to prevent fraud. To attend, register by March 21 via this link or call city hall at 780-875-6184.
