Four people face several charges after police found guns in downtown Lloydminster on June 18.
RCMP charged the four after a concerned citizen informed them of suspicious activity.
- Shauna Couston, 25, from Fort McMurray, Alta.
- Germain Gamble, 26, from Onion Lake, Sask.
- Kyle Soosay, 35, from Kehewin Cree Nation, Alta.
- Aimery Thunderblanket, 21, from Sweetgrass First Nation, Sask.
At around 9 p.m. on June 18, RCMP got the call about suspicious behaviour near a downtown business. Officers responded quickly and found four people matching the caller’s description.

Police discovered the group had firearms and officers arrested three at the scene. The fourth was later found in Onion Lake, Sask.
Police seized several weapons, including two loaded rifles, ammunition and other weapon-related items. They also found a small amount of fentanyl.
The four individuals face several charges, including:
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of weapons while banned
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon
- Resisting arrest
- Possession of fentanyl
Gamble, Soosay and Thunderblanket remain in custody. Couston was released on conditions and must appear in Lloydminster court on July 15.
Soosay had a previous interaction with Lloydminster RCMP on June 6 when they surrounded a residence before taking him into custody. In that incidence, he was charged with failure to comply with a release order.
“We’re thankful for the vigilance of community members who reported this suspicious activity,” said Cpl. Christopher Byford of Lloydminster RCMP. “This swift response prevented a potentially dangerous situation.”
