Lloydminster and Maidstone RCMP are investigating several reports of counterfeit cash being used in the city.
Since mid-August, police have received seven complaints about fake Canadian bills. Most of the counterfeit notes were $50 and $100 denominations.

Police are asking the public to help identify suspects believed to be using the fake bills.


Sgt. Christopher Byford said counterfeit bills hurt businesses and the community.
“Counterfeit money directly impacts businesses and the community as a whole,” he Byford. “We encourage vigilance and reporting.”
RCMP remind businesses to check large bills carefully before accepting them.
The Bank of Canada offers training and resources to help identify security features on Canadian money.
