The Lloydminster Men’s Shelter honoured community volunteers on Sept. 17 via social media, which stemmed from the Housing and Homelessness Symposium in May.

Each award highlights the efforts of people working to improve the lives of others locally.

Lana Lane of Hub of Healing received the Collaborative Impact Award for her teamwork and outreach efforts.

The Volunteer Award went to Ruby Trudel for her strong commitment to helping others at The Olive Tree.

Residents in Recovery’s Rebecca Miller, who used her own journey to guide and support others, received the Lived-Experience Leadership Award.
Her colleague Des Bissonnette accepted the Front-Line Hero Award for dedicated service on the ground.

The Community Champion Award recognized Cenovus Energy staff members Brina Kiziak and Waylon Falcon for their ongoing work supporting housing and recovery services.
The Social Policy Framework Leadership Team selected winners from a group of nominees. Organizers said each nominee demonstrated passion and care for people facing housing challenges in the community.
The shelter thanked all the volunteers who received a nomination and said the awards celebrate the power of teamwork.
“These amazing folks go above and beyond every single day,” the group said in a statement.
