Innovation Saskatchewan will serve as the lead sponsor for SASK AI EXPO 2026, scheduled for April 27 at Prairieland Park. The event, hosted by Artificial Intelligence Saskatchewan (AiSK), aims to connect local tech talent with global industry leaders.

Minister Warren Kaeding says Saskatchewan’s talent and research strength will lead the rapidly evolving AI sector.

“SASK AI EXPO 2026 will connect innovators, accelerate adoption and help build a more competitive, resilient economy,” Kaeding said in a release.

Highlighting local success

The expo will feature Jeff Dyck, Vice President of Research and Development at Siemens EDA, as its keynote speaker. Dyck was a key figure in Solido Design Automation, a home-grown Saskatchewan startup acquired by Siemens in 2017.

Organizers say the event will focus on real-world applications of AI across the province’s core sectors, including:

  • Natural Resources: Advancements in mining and energy.
  • Agriculture: Integration of smart tech in farming.
  • Health and Manufacturing: Scaling AI-powered solutions for specialized industries.

Building an ‘AI Hub’

Kaitlyn Hebert, fractional Executive Director of AiSK, said the sponsorship sends a clear message that the province’s AI future is already underway.

“Saskatchewan has the talent to lead in AI, and SASK AI EXPO puts it on full display,” Hebert said.

Launched in 2024, AiSK serves as a central hub for AI education and commercialization, linking researchers with entrepreneurs to foster long-term economic growth.

The one-day event will include interactive workshops on ethical AI use, live technology demonstrations, and networking sessions designed to bridge the gap between startups and established corporations.
