A 30-year-old man faces a manslaughter charge following the death of a 53-year-old man on the Saulteaux First Nation last week.

Saskatchewan RCMP say officers from the Battlefords detachment responded to a report of an injured man at a residence on the First Nation at about 4 a.m. on Friday, June 5.
Emergency medical services personnel declared the man dead at the scene. Police have identified the victim as Leonard Moccasin, a resident of Saulteaux First Nation. RCMP noted his family has been notified and victim services are assisting them.
Investigators deemed the death suspicious and arrested a man at the scene. The Saskatchewan RCMP’s homicide investigation unit subsequently took over the case.
Police announced Saturday that Bradley Redbear, 30, also of Saulteaux First Nation, has been charged with one count of manslaughter under Section 236(a) of the Criminal Code.
Redbear is scheduled to make his first appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court today.
Several police departments continue to assist with the investigation, including the Battlefords and Prince Albert serious crimes units, as well as the Battlefords RCMP general investigation and forensic identification sections.
