The international mission, which began Tuesday and runs until June 19, includes stops in Belgium, France, Poland and the Czech Republic. The provincial delegation aims to position Saskatchewan as a secure and stable supplier amid rising global demand.
“Protecting and growing Saskatchewan’s economy means building on our strong international partnerships while expanding into new markets,” Moe said in a statement. “As global demand rises for energy, critical minerals, food and defense capabilities, Saskatchewan has what the world needs.”
As part of the trip, provincial officials will attend Eurosatory in Paris, one of the world’s largest defense and security exhibitions, which attracts more than 120,000 visitors. The province hopes the event will help integrate local suppliers into international defense supply chains.
The push for market diversification follows a significant surge in trade between the province and the European bloc. Saskatchewan’s exports to the EU grew by 137.9 per cent over a five-year period, climbing from $1.6 billion in 2021 to $3.8 billion in 2025.
According to the provincial government, Saskatchewan’s top export products to the region include uranium, potash, canola seed, durum wheat and non-durum wheat.
