Onion Lake RCMP is asking for the public’s help to locate a 28-year-old man wanted in connection with an alleged armed robbery on the Onion Lake Cree Nation.

Mounties say officers responded to a report of a robbery late last Wednesday, July 31, at about 11:55 p.m.
Investigators determined a man approached a victim, assaulted them, threatened them with a firearm and stole their phone before fleeing in a vehicle. The victim did not report any physical injuries to police.
Officers located the suspect vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver failed to pull over and fled the scene.
Following an investigation, police issued an arrest warrant for 28-year-old Dakota Whitstone.
Whitstone faces multiple charges, including robbery with a firearm, assault, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failing to comply with a release order condition.
Whitstone is described as five-foot-nine with brown hair and brown eyes.
Police advise anyone who sees Whitstone not to approach him, but to contact their local police service or RCMP detachment immediately.
