Saskatchewan hunters can now purchase licences as the province prepares for the 2026-27 hunting season.

Both regular hunting licences and Big Game Draw licences became available for purchase starting Aug. 1, the provincial government announced.
Environment minister Darlene Rowden encouraged both new and experienced hunters to plan ahead and prioritize conservation.
“Whether you are a seasoned hunter or heading into the field for the first time, we encourage everyone to plan ahead, know the rules and help conserve Saskatchewan’s wildlife for future generations,” Rowden said in a news release.
Licences can be purchased online through the province’s Hunting, Angling and Trapping Licence (HAL) system, by phone, or in person at government field offices, select provincial parks and authorized retail issuers. Hunters will need their HAL identification number to complete a transaction.
With approximately 85 per cent of land in southern Saskatchewan privately owned or controlled, provincial officials reminded hunters that they must obtain permission from landowners or occupants before entering private property. Permission can be provided verbally, in writing, electronically, or through posted signage.
The 2026-27 Saskatchewan Hunters Guide, which details season dates, licence fees and updated wildlife management regulations, is currently available for download online and in print at select government and retail locations.
