Members of the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Lloydminster Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team (STRT) executed a search warrant at a hotel room on 50 Ave. on June 11 as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

During the search, officers seized about $40,000 in cash alongside large quantities of illicit drugs, including more than six litres of gamma hydroxybutyrate (GHB), 725 grams of methamphetamine, 243 grams of fentanyl and 233 grams of cocaine.

Sgt. Aaron Gervais of the Lloydminster STRT said the seizure deals a major blow to local illegal drug operations.

“This seizure represents a significant disruption to the illicit drug trade in Lloydminster and area,” Gervais said. “By removing these dangerous substances, and the financial incentives behind them, we are directly investing in community prevention and safety.”

Yuvraj Dhillon, 23, and Sukhman Singh, 20, both of Edmonton, have each been charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Both accused are scheduled to make their first appearance in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Aug. 11.
