Frontline officers and specialized enforcement units charged 378 people with 543 drug trafficking-related offences across Saskatchewan last year, according to annual police statistics released on July 29.

The charges stem from joint efforts between local detachments, traffic services, and the Saskatchewan Enforcement Response Teams (SERT), which target drug, gang, and firearm activity across the province.
“Illegal drugs pose a serious threat to the wellbeing of communities. Targeting the individuals responsible for trafficking them is our ultimate goal,” said Staff Sgt. Éric Desfossés, north region manager for SERT.
Throughout 2025, specialized SERT investigations led to the seizure of roughly 60 kilograms of methamphetamine, 14 kilograms of cocaine, 357 grams of fentanyl, three kilograms of other illicit drugs, 70 pharmaceutical-style tablets, and more than 120 firearms.
Among the notable operations cited by police:
- Dec. 31, 2025: Pelican Narrows RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence, seizing more than a kilogram of methamphetamine.
- October 2025: A roving traffic unit officer stopped a vehicle near Kindersley, where police dog Salt helped locate 19 kilograms of cocaine and one kilogram of methamphetamine hidden inside.
Desfossés said police are using intelligence-led strategies to disrupt drug supply lines whether they operate in large cities or remote northern communities.
The Saskatchewan RCMP released the figures as part of its ongoing annual statistics series reviewing provincewide crime trends.
