“At CERAWeek, I will be making it clear that Alberta is a critical partner in securing energy dominance for North America,” she said. “Alberta remains a reliable partner for the U.S. to keep energy abundant, affordable and secure.”

Additionally, Smith plans to address the impact of new U.S. tariffs.

“It will also be an opportunity for me to raise directly how the recently-imposed tariffs will hurt the American people, driving up costs for fuel, food, vehicles, housing and many other products,” said Smith. “We will not let trade barriers undermine decades of cooperation that have made us stronger together.”

Meanwhile, Smith emphasizes Alberta is ready to collaborate.

“We are open for business and ready to work with our neighbours and allies to build a secure and prosperous future,” she said. “Alberta is committed to providing the world with safe and responsible energy.”

Additionally, Alberta energy minister, Brian Jean, will also be attending the conference.

Jean said Alberta could help with energy security and a low-carbon future.

“When it comes to achieving long-term energy security, Alberta is the answer,” he said. “We intend to showcase that at this year’s CERAWeek conference and strengthen relationships with industry and other jurisdictions to help us work together and build a low-carbon energy future.”

Furthermore, he added Alberta offers a business-friendly environment.

“We want to show that Alberta is a great place for investment and growth,” said Jean. “We are focused on creating new opportunities for people and businesses.”

Smith and Jean will meet with international government officials and business leaders. Meanwhile, they will promote Alberta’s responsible energy sector and discuss the province’s role in a secure energy future. They will also reassert Alberta’s place as a resource leader and explore ways to meet evolving energy needs.

Alberta’s government aims to build relationships to boost Alberta’s economy and support a low-carbon energy future.
