Taking place again at the Servus Sports Centre in the OTS Room, city officials, alongside their display boards, were on hand to inform the public of updates to the document.

“At the first open house, we were just sharing the draft future land use concept,” said Natasha Pidkowa, manager of planning with the City of Lloydminster.

Feedback from that first meeting helped inform planning on changes needed.

“With that, we were able to obtain some pretty significant feedback that the project team was headed in the right direction,” she said. “With that, we did make some minor revisions to the future land use concept. From there, we really started to see the draft and policies evolve.”

At the second meeting on April 28, the full document was presented for people to review.

“What we’re presenting today is the future land use concept, with minor modifications, as well as the full policy document supporting the land use decisions we’d like to see implemented going forward,” said Pidkowa.

Public engagement is still ongoing, as residents can give feedback virtually at yourvoicelloyd.ca/swasp until May 14.

The next milestone for the plan will be a presentation to council.

“We have a few key dates going forward. On May 11, we’re targeting to present the bylaw to council at a GPC meeting,” she said.

The document will then be presented a few weeks later for first reading.

“Then on May 25, following the closure of comments, it’ll go to council for first reading and the establishment of a public hearing,” said Pidkowa.
