A report to the Lloydminster Regional Housing Group (LRHG) board last week detailed issues surrounding a pest infestation at Pioneer Lodge. The issue, which first arose last summer, is coming under control.

The lodge proactively keeps residents safe and comfortable by managing bed bug and mice concerns with proven methods and strong professional partnerships.

“At Pioneer Lodge, we take a proactive and diligent approach to maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for residents,” said Stephanie Miller, CEO of LRHG.

The facility has a strict bed bug inspection schedule. Professionals inspect biweekly, and the trained internal team keeps a close eye in between. Recently, a bed bug specialist found only two dead bugs and no live activity.

“This confirms our containment efforts are working, and we are pleased with the effectiveness of our approach,” said Miller.

However, mice activity tends to increase with seasonal temperature changes. Pioneer Lodge prepared early with routine inspections, traps, and advice from pest control experts.

“We also remind residents to keep external doors properly latched and ask them not to leave food out,” said Miller. “These efforts have already resulted in noticeable improvement.”

Meanwhile, Pioneer Lodge will continue to focus on the well-being of residents. Additionally, they will take every step needed to provide a safe and comfortable living environment.

“Our priority remains the well-being of residents,” said Miller.
